Heeeeelllllllllllooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you all were very worried because I hadn't posted in so long.  Lots has happened, but I just haven't felt much like writing.  Race reports for Lonestar 70.3 and The Gusher Half Marathon will be coming soon...hopefully.

And now for some random thoughts:
  • I'm out of town 4 of the next 5 weekends - part of me wouldn't mind if that were going to be 5 of the next 5 weekends.
  • I'm going to San Diego today for a long weekend.  Whohoo!  I cannot wait.  I might not come back.
  • I'm taking two weeks off of anything athletic after this weekend - my body (and mind) are screaming for a break.  I have taken it very easy in the three weeks since Lonestar, but not easy enough.  I'm tired and half sick (I think some of it is allergies), so now's the time to take a break.  I'm actually looking forward to it and have some fun things planned during the time I would have usually been working out.
  • DQ Blizzards, unfortunately, don't fix everything.
  • I'm now officially a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church - I even ushered at Sunday night service last week.
  • I want to give a shout out to Kim, Melissa, and Monica - you guys rock!
  • Kelly rocks too, but she knows that, and we are about to spend 4 days rocking together!
  • My mom is the proud new owner of a Garmin 305...and her OWN new pair of walking shoes (instead of using my 400+ mile old shoes).
  • I miss Molly, Kate, and Bennett.  I haven't seen them in a while.  They are actually coming to Houston this weekend but I won't be here to see them.

I think was Facebook I'd "like" this. And while I do know I rock it's nice to hear it again. You get here in 5 1/2 hours!!!

Ahh... I was wondering why the break. I miss you on Saturdays, but completely support the plan. We were members of St. Luke's for a really long time until we got fully entrenched in living in the burbs. We loved it, and I still miss it. I made some of my best friends in Houston there, which helped round out my otherwise exclusively tri group. I hope it is a good home for you.

Kathleen;
Do not think you will ever be a "guy". Good on you re: St Luke's membership. Sammie Kay and I are still planning on Spindletop so far. Hope we see you there and enjoy your time off. Best to you.

Ironman in verse

This is what I wrote and secretly put under everyone's doors tonight: The big day is almost here! Long it will be, but have no fear. You have put in miles and miles And will finish amidst numerous smiles. The hard work is over and done. Now is the time for nothing but fun. May your spirits be high throughout the day, And may nothing come along to stand in your way. Ironman is as much about the journey as the destination, And you will be rewarded for all of your determination. Hand-in-hand we will all jump in, Eagerly treading water as we wait to begin. At 7am the cannon will blast But be sure not to go out too fast. The cool water will run over your face, As you are now committed to the race. The Rural Bridge will seem so far away But keep those negative thoughts at bay. Once you turn around and head west To the Mill Ave. Bridge you go, trying your best. 2.4 miles will be over before you know it, And you will start to realize your thoughts of Iron are truly legit. On to the bike, f...

We did it!

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....
