I Miss Food!!

I miss bread. I miss sandwiches. I miss pizza. I miss bagels. I miss ice cream. I miss beer and wine (well, not really, but I'll throw it in there anyway). I miss being able to go downstairs at lunch and finding something easy there to eat. I miss tortillas. I miss cheese. I miss hamburgers. I miss cinnamon scones. I miss Collina's bread dipped in olive oil and herbs. I miss Burger King croissants after my long runs. I miss whole wheat toast beside my omelet. I miss cheese in my omelets. I miss not having to plan and prepare for each meal of the day or risk starving (me starving is not the way you want to see me...I promise...I might bite your head off).

I guess you get the point...life without yeast and dairy (and a few other things) isn't exactly satisfying! I no longer eat for pleasure, I only eat to make myself not hungry anymore. I know some people get joy out of only eating to fuel their bodies, but blah, how boring!

You would think I would be losing weight eating this way too, but not so much. I'm blaming the taper for that right now though. Maybe after the race I will be able to drop a few more lbs. One good thing is it did get me out of having to drink some awful shot of something dropped in Guinness Beer the other night. I was quite thankful at that point.

I've been wondering how the allergy diet has been going for you...hopefully you're feeling a bit better, at least? Granted pollen counts have been out of control since Ike so surely that doesn't help matters!

Ugh. Sounds awful. Does it have to be part of the human condition that everything that is yummy is fattening or allergy-causing and everything that is FUN is sinful?

Are you able to consume enough calories this way?

If not, maybe it's not a good idea to make such a drastic change right BEFORE your big race. I'm no expert...

Can you still have the legumes? I've become addicted to Sabra hummus and baby carrots. A fairly delectable yet guilt-free snack if you ask me.

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
