Ahhhhh...........

A brief sigh of relief as I have a whole 15 minutes or so to finally sit down and relax for a bit. Then its carbo load time (minus of course the best part of Italian food...bread and cheese), then get to bed as early as possible. We are flying out super early in the morning and this is my important night of sleep. Too bad I'm not leaving much time for it. I'm not excited yet, but I'm not as worried anymore either. I'm just too wound up from work right now to really have much thought about it at all.

I will say though that my time spent last night after work was absolutely fabulous! I finally got to meet Jessica Anne and Sarah Grace. I brought dinner to Lisa and her family and got some serious baby time. I think I'm in love. Sarah and Jessica are absolutely beautiful. I got to spend over an hour last night with the two little angels asleep on me. At 6 lbs each, they feel like feathers when you hold them, and I'm still not sure I even believe they weigh 6 lbs! My niece Bennett was under 7 lbs but still way bigger than Sarah and Jessica. They are definitely the smallest babies I have ever held. They are soooo tiny, yet sooo beautiful. Lisa is looking amazing too. She had quite the awful day yesterday, but was still in very good spirits when I arrived. I'm amazed at at what good job she is doing - already an old pro at the mom thing. I cannot wait until I get to see them again. I told Lisa I had a real nap with the girls on the schedule for sometime very soon.

Tomorrow morning we are flying to Las Vegas then driving the 130 miles to St. George, Utah for the race. Sunday night we are going to stay in Vegas before heading back to Houston. I've never been to Las Vegas before, so it should be fun. The weather for the race is still looking iffy - not exactly the 35 degree clear dry start and 50 degree clear dry finish I was hoping for, but there isn't much I can do about it!

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
