Getting To Know You

Alright, time for a little "comment love" - a term used in the blogging world meaning, quite simply, "leave a comment!"

I can see I have readers from all over the world (look at the little map a little way down on the right), obviously with the highest concentration being from this area, but I don't know who you are! (Most of you at least!). I'd love to know a little about who is reading my blog, what you like what you don't like, where you are from, etc. Anyone can comment at any time - you don't have to have a blogger or google profile.

Just click on the "x comments" link below any post (x is the number of existing comments on any one post), then a box will pop up letting you type the comment. If you have a google/blogger profile you can use that, but if not, you can just click "anonymous", but be sure to sign your name or nickname or whatever with your comment.

P.S. If you don't want to tell me much about yourself, or I already know you, no problem; even a simple "hello" is fun to read!

Hi! I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so not too far from you. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your blog, but started reading before you did IM Florida last year. I'm doing my first IM this year, in Florida. Very excited! :) I'll also be at Lonestar this year, so maybe I'll see you.

You know me and where I'm from so I guess I will tell you that I really like chocolate and I really hate frogs.

I cannot believe that you are NOT wearing a pink kit in the photos below at the Frost Yer Fanny. Did you feel out of sorts without any pink or compression socks on?

So I guess I am the first. I am from Utah. Saw your blog when I was looking for compression wear. I have vesalvega sychnopy so I have to take a lot of salt, wear compression stuff and drink a ton of water. I also failed the table tilt test...yuck.

I race mountain bikes, and also ride road bikes, but prefer to be in on the trails versus the road.

I love reading your blog, and can relate to how health can interfere with racing and training. I am jealous of all the great weather you have. We still have snow.

Hi! I've been lurking on your blog for probably a year or more. I live in the Houston area, and run and do triathlons, so I've enjoyed finding and reading the blogs of H-towners. I've gotten some good tips from y'all, and enjoy feeling like I'm part of a community even though I'm a lurker.

No triathlons or races for me in 2010 - we've just found out that we're expecting our first kiddo at the beginning of October!

Hi -- I met Clea a few years ago at a 50 km run in Waco, and we have kept in touch, seeing each other at various races. I followed her blog to your blog and... there it is.

Hi! I'm in League City with BAM. We've never met in person but maybe that will change this year. :) I've been reading for at least a year or two.

Hi, I live in the Houston area and run a lot. I enjoy reading your blog because you come across as a very nice person. I have no doubt other people on here will say the same thing. Best wishes to you, and I'll introduce myself if I see you at a race.

I think you know more about me than I even want to think about. Hi and for everyone else, I'm a tri/running buddy in H-town.

Let's see, have known you for 6ish years now...used to run with you back when you were my pace. Now I just run pushing a stroller and that is an even slower slow pace, but it's still fun to keep up on your life by reading your blog! Hopefully it won't be another year (and another babe) before we meet up again!
Um. Hi. I like triathlons and I like you.

Hi Kathleen! I love reading your blog-- we're similar ages and at a similar place in life I think. Plus, your adventures are a blast to hear about!

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
