Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh - Chocolate Cake and Scones

No more. Well, not at least until I lose a pound or two. I had told myself I wasn't allowed to have Zoe's Chocolate Cake until the scale said 125.0. It was teasing me for a week or two. It would head that way, and I knew it was coming, and then bam! 125.4. That isn't good enough - it had to be 125.0 for cake. Until last Thursday. The dog food expedition just made me need cake. Ugh. So I had it. Then I had it again last night. And I've had scones from the bakery downstairs for breakfast 2-3 times in the last week or so. Not ok! So I'm starting over and because I cheated the first time, the bar has now been set at 124.0. Once I hit that weight I can treat myself to cake and/or a scone, but then I'll have to be good again after that to lose the last 1-2 lbs that I need to. I really need to lose it now that I have to haul my butt up some monstrous hills (mountains) in California.

We also started round 2 of the Summer Slim Down Challenge this week. Friday is our week 1 weigh-in and the challenge runs through August 15. I lost 2-3 lbs last time. If I lose 2-3 more, I'll be happy.

R.I.P. Zoe's Chocolate Cake - at least for now...

Hey, at least it is only the scale that tries to stare you down. I thought that I would have just a small 3 x 3 inch square of the homemade Lasagne that I made for everyone who came over to stuff packets for the kid's triathlon. Well, now I am all bloated and my arms are covered in hives. DANG IT!!! The lasagne was soooo good, but the hives are so itchy. The chocolate cake and scones would make be break out as well.

IT REALLY SUCKS. Oh well, back to my "clean living" diet with no wheat or corn. At least you can have smaller portions or "just a little bite". I wish I had that freedom.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

You are EVIL, putting that pic of that delicious cake. I am very stimulus bound - I see cake and I want cake.

I have been eating Clif bars (there is a mint chocolate and cookies and cream) instead of cake/cookies/ice cream, to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I had my last scone for breakfast. Black berry and white chocolate. I will miss them but not the gut rot they give me. The chocolate cake on the other hand looks so yummy I may have to see if I can find a piece. Thank god stores around here don't sell stuff by the slice.

I feel like I'm becoming the Stay-Puff Marshmallow man in the wake of CdA. I'm a little too used to consuming pizza, beer and ice cream to get me through the big training weeks.

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
