Hot Pants, Hot Pink, what's the difference?

I opted out of the hot pants today, but wore my new favorite hot pink sports bra and apparently it has the same speedy influence on my running as the hot pants.

I ran my fastest mile ever today, by a good 40 seconds.

I know you are all on the edge of your seat....

wait for it...

wait for it...

Mile 1: 7:25!!!!!!!!!

Mile 2: 8:00 (ugh...)
Mile 3: 8:06 (major ugh...)
Mile .14: 1:04
Actually, those are all faster miles than I have ever run before!
Total time: Well, I'm not exactly sure!! I stopped my watch at 24:34, once I realized I was past the "finish line." It wasn't chipped timed. 24:34 was for 3.14 miles. I'm trying to plug into motion based to get my exact time at 3.1, but I'm not there yet. Anyways, I think it is safe to call it a 24:30. Also, I have no idea what my time will show up as in the results because you cross the finish line, then line up in order of finish and wait for them to scan the bar code on your number. So I assume the "scanned" time will be closer to 25:00. I guess we get a little spoiled with chip timing at most races, but whatever the case, I'll take whatever time. I know I ran at least a 24:34, and probably under 24:30.

Next news....

I got SECOND PLACE IN MY AGE GROUP!!!!!!! First hardware EVER! (disregard that it says 2007...the event got rained out last year and it is safe to say they just used the medals from last year)

Thank goodness for Elizabeth, my friend from work. I talked her into coming out with me so we could run a few miles before and after to get "credit" for a long run. We came close to 10 total for the day, so not bad. She also ran her fastest mile ever today and PR'd as well!

Now, the ultimate reward:
I forgot to say also that Craig Biggio and the Cardinal were both there at the start, so that was kind of neat. They both spoke a little at the first and Craig shot the starting gun (with pretty much no warning!).

Well, there is one little difference. I can probably call you "Hot Pants" without getting in too much trouble. But if I resort to a hot pink sports bra nickname, that would be way over the line.

Good on ya' for another milestone.

You like pink, maybe?

Fast Hot Pants, now, although that sounds kinda suggestive.

Cute to Hot. That describes you. When I first stumbled onto your blog randomly and started following it awhile back and saw pictures you were a cute young woman. Now, after some serious training for all of the events that you do you have completely changed yourself. You should be proud. I'm sure you're beating the guys away all the time. You can post this or not that doesn't matter. I don't have your email address and wanted to let you know that there are people out there that notice. Congrats!

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
