FAT!

I got on the scale this morning. Wow. I knew I was feeling super frumpy lately and didn't like seeing myself in the mirror, but now I know why. I've gained 5-6 lbs! Gross! My clothes which were all pretty lose are fitting now or are tight! Ugh. I weigh more now than I have since October. The sad thing is it probably took me at least 6 weeks to put this weight on, so it will probably take twice as long to come back off, if I'm even that lucky. I dieted for 2 months last summer and lost 1 whole lb. Yes, one pound.

I'm not going to be smashing PR's left and right anymore if I have to carry an extra bowling ball around while I'm trying to race.

Even sadder is that I read in Runners World last night that after people take a break from running and gain weight, men have to average 15.5 miles per week of running to start to lose weight again and women have to average THIRTY freakin' miles per week! DOUBLE what men have to do! I won't be running 30 mpw until July at the earliest, ugh.

And yes, I admit I do weigh less right now than I did at this time last year and before my recent weight loss, this would be the least I've weighed in a long long time, but that isn't how weight loss is supposed to work. You are supposed to lose it and keep it off - and work from there. I still hated my stomach even at 121 lbs. If I hated it then, how can I expect to ever like it when I've gained what I have? I need to get back down to "fighting weight" and then do some serious work in the gym.

I did initiate the Summer Slim Down Challenge with some of my girl friends today. The challenge will last 6 weeks, ending June 27. So hopefully I will have some significant progress to show for by then.

Don't hate me because my fat melts at the mere thought of exercise. I'm a boy. Can't help it.

Of course, that makes it all the more inexcusable that there are so many soft, pudgy guys running around with moobs and beer bellies.

Please sign me up for the Summer Slim-Down Challenge! Seriously, I need some motivation... Have I missed the unofficial weigh-in? Is there a prize for the winner? I'd be willing to contribute and fight it out for a gift card for somewhere.
Thanks!

Well if it helps any - I think you're actually pretty slim and dare I say "sexy" - and from what I have read from your blog you seem to be a very nice and caring person.

Combine your outer beauty along with your inner beauty and what you get is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Woman!

Here is my special allergy diet for you:

Pretend you are allergic to wheat and corn for a month to six weeks. If you eat anything that has wheat or corn products in it, you might get the trots or want to throw up and you will break out in hives and have other skin problems and edema.

When I got off the wheat and corn I dropped off 6 pounds. It was hell at first because High Fructose Corn Sryup is in EVERYTHING but I have found lots of good stuff to eat and I never go hungry.

Oh yeah, watch out becase all gels except Clif shot are made with corn products and Gatorade has stuff in it as well. Accelerade is good stuff and is glutin and corn free!

Errrr, you are not fat - just look at your Florida pics. But I understand that even a few pounds makes you feel sluggish.

not sure what kind of advice I have here....but...
1. you look amazing!
2. I think it's normal and mentally healthy to enjoy real life post IM, and that includes eating desserts! you've earned it.
3. you will still smash your PR's. you're strong and fit.
4. a while back, you inspired me to work on my abs and clean up my nutrition. My biggest change includes eating the bulk of my calories for breakfast and lunch. dinner is a salad with protien.
and....
I want in on the SSDC!!! I can use all the motivation I can get.

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
