Lovely, lovely weather!

Gees, can we get a break? Yesterday was weekend #4 in a row of grossly hot temps just in time for long runs. The good thing is I haven't had to be going as far since I'm only running the half, but still, gees!

I ran 13 miles yesterday - 100% by myself. I have never run that far by myself before. The eight mile run I did before Christmas by myself was my previous longest alone. It took forever though - 2:45! I am still very glad I did it and it has broken past some mental barriers I have had for five years in regards to running long by myself. My pace was a whopping 12:45 min/mile, which is still very slow, but oh well, it worked at least. I also was a lot faster on the second half of my run - I guess I settled into a groove staying just under 172 bpm. Six miles into the run, my average was 13:01 min/mile and I was going to be happy enough to hold onto that, so I was very pleased to finish up with a 12:45 average.

Now back to that weather. The dork that I am did some research:

Sunday, December 14: High - 75, humidity 90% (cold front came in 12 hours after run, high on 15th was 66, high on 16th was 45)
Saturday, December 20: High - 80, humidity 96% (cold front came in ~24 hours after run, high on 22nd was 44)
Saturday, December 27: High - 77, humidity 91% (cold front came in 12 hours after run, high the next day was 59)
Saturday, January 3: High - 82, humidity 92% (cold front on the way in right now, 36 hours after run, high tomorrow is only 50)

Can we talk to someone about these weather patterns? Seriously. Cold during the week, like colder than it has been in years, then obscenely hot and humid on the weekends?

Congrats on the run. It is always harder to do it alone, that's for sure! :-)

You don't know how good you have it- weather wise! Seriously. I think I've said this before. But the only way I can run outside without doing my best Nancy Kerigan impression is to strap on some sort of cleat system to traverse the icy streets! Crazy! Although technically, I suppose I don't like humidity either. Haha. The grass is always greener I guess. :-)

For real. Cross your fingers for 55 and no wind on January 18.

Let's hope we have some great weather for January 18.
Last time I made a special request for good weather was IM Arizona and we know how that turned out!!!
Have a great 2009.

I'm going to venture out in the weather tonight for a run. God help me, its cold out there!

And let the accuweather.com watch begin for the marathon. Right now, it is going to rain with a high of 70 and low of 50. That sucks. Tomorrow the forecast will be totally different, guaranteed, as it will each day for the next two weeks!

I am loving our H-town weather! 72 degrees and super humid for my run yesterday and as soon as I finished the front rolled through and by noon it was 54 degrees.

I guess I am weird for loving it.

Still here. Still infertile.

Sigh.  Here we are again.  We knew all along we would be able to start the process for baby #2 when Sloane was nine months old.  I had said we did not necessarily want kids that close together, but knew just because we started then did not mean we would get pregnant then.  If I had only known how true that is becoming.  Silly us had started having visions of three kids.  The only way we can have three kids is to have things go smoothly, not lose embryos, and not lose time.  Well, so far we have lost an embryo and a lot of time in the quest for our next baby. I breezed through prep for our transfer in early May.  The stress load was so much less than before because I thought we had it figured out.  We had Sloane as a great distraction.  My lining was better than it has ever been before - by far.  Then, the day after Mother's Day, I found out it did not work.  And I was immediately thrown back into the depths of infertility hell....

Into the Donor Egg World We Go

As I sit down to write this, I'm shocked to see February 27, 2022 was the last post I've written about our IVF journey.  In some ways, it seems like so much has happened over the last year, and on the other hand it seems like nothing has happened at all because we are back to square one. I'll provide a quick summary of the last year, but please understand this won't even begin to describe the true roller coaster ride we have been on.  I actually don't think it is even appropriate to call it a roller coaster because that indicates there are some ups.  Our ride has been more like a train ride through hell. After our failed transfer in February, we decided to take a break in March to let my body rest a bit before transferring our next embryo.  During that time, a friend reached out and told me about her friend that hadn't had success here but did at CCRM in Colorado.  At the time it almost felt like a divine intervention, but I now know better.  We spent seven...

We did it!
